Research advisor at the Institute of Art History. Graduated Art History at the University of Zagreb, Croatia. MA in 1989 on Baroque Easel Painting in North West Croatia, PhD in 1999 on Baroque Painting in the Croatian Franciscan Province of Sts Cyril and Methodius. From 1980 to 1998 employed at the Croatian Academy of Arts and Sciences, first as a curator at the Glyptotheque Museum and then at the Fine Arts Archive as the research assistant on the project Sculpture and Painting of the 17th and 18 Centuries in Continental Croatia. Since 1999 researcher at the Institute of Art History in Zagreb, first on the project Croatian Art Topography, and later, from 2001 to 2006 head of the research project Baroque Art of Northern Croatia in Central European Context, and from 2006 until 2013 head of the research project Baroque, Classicism and Historicism in the Religious Art of Croatia’s Mainland (both financed by the Croatian Ministry of Science).
Associate Professor at the University of Split (undergraduate course Baroque Art in Continental Croatia and its Central European Context) and Rijeka (2007−2010, course Renaissance and Baroque at the Academy of Applied Arts). At the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Zagreb, mentor and a guest lecturer at the doctoral study of Art History (theme Problems of Style), as well as a guest lecturer at the postgraduate study at the Faculty of Croatian Studies (theme Renaissance and Baroque Art in Croatia). Study and research visits to Budapest and Pécs (Bilateral Cooperation). Member of the international research group Baroque Ceiling Painting in Central Europe. Curator of the Virtual museum − Discover Baroque Art of the Museum With No Frontiers, and the virtual exhibition Languages of Baroque hosted in 2012 at the web page of MWNF. Since 2004 editor-in-chief of the Journal of the Institute of Art History. Since 2011 head of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Art History. In 2012 was granted the Croatian Arts and Sciences Academy award for science. Research Focus is on the Baroque ceiling and easel painting in Croatia and Central Europe. The findings are published in books, national and international scientific journals and exhibition catalogues.
